The T-Hub is a unique public-private partnership between the government of Telangana, and three academic institutes IIIT-H, ISB and National Law University, Nalsar, and other key private sector leaders. These entities have come together with a clear vision to create an innovation ecosystem centered on Hyderabad, leveraging the City’s traditional strengths in education, technology and entrepreneurship as well as it preferred destination for multiple national and international businesses across sectors.
The T-Hub aim is to design, support and develop technology related start ups; and its mission is to catalyse the creation of one of the tightest and most vibrant entrepreneur communities in the world, in the order to encourage more start up success stories in India.
India’s biggest incubator, T-Hub first phase of incubator which is known as Catalyst was inaugurated yesterday by the telangana Governor ESL Narsimhan and Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata. The T-incubator is biggest platform for start-ups and is located at the International Institute for Information Technology (IIIT) at Gachibowli constructed on 70,000 sq feet area.
The Indian Business School and National Law University are also part of mentoring the incubator. About 140 start-ups are expected to start at the Catalyst facility and will get a minimum period of six months to establish themselves after which they will move out to allow fresher’s to come in.
The Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao has officially announced that a board comprising industrialists and entrepreneurs would guide the T-Hub and the government will not interfere into the functioning of T-Hub. The T-Hub incubator will become a brand model of the India as the second phase is also almost completed and will be set up with another Rs. 150 crores and facility will be stood over 3 lakh sq feet space.
He also said that T-Hub hopes to attract the best start ups and entrepreneur organizations from across the world to Hyderabad, work with broad network of partners to guide entrepreneurs launch and scale innovative companies; prepared innovators and organizations alike with the entrepreneurship skills required to succeed, using methodologies that transcend traditional learning; and link, educate to promote all the entrepreneurship related stakeholders in hyderabad including investors, incubators, start ups, and research centers etc. in order to help faster connections between ideas, capital and talent.
